A recent study revealed that holiday weight gain, although it may be subtle, really does happen. In the United States, the researchers found that the participant’s weight began to rise throughout October (Halloween) and November (Thanksgiving) and peaked 10 days after Christmas. Unfortunately, the extra pounds put on between Halloween and Christmas can take more than five months to lose. About half of the holiday weight gain may come off quickly after the holiday season ended, but the other half usually isn’t shed before April.
